Geocache Description:

Inside Bakkala Cemetery in the south part of Marquette County.

This cache is located in my own plot at Bakkala Cemetery. There is no one buried at this plot now, but some day in the (distant) future, it will most likely be my final resting place.

Bakkala Cemetery is a private cemetery and it is also an ethnic Finnish-American cemetery. The tradition in many parts of Finland is to do very little (or no) "upgrades" or even maintenance to the cemetery. It is intentionally left as "natural" as possible. Traditionally, even fallen trees are left wherever they fall.

I hope you enjoy your visit to this unusual cemetery. Of course, this cemetery is closed after dark, so this cache is not available after dark.

The cache is an uncamo'ed peanut butter jar containing the traditional stuff. You do not have to move ANYTHING to find this cache.
