Welcome to the Park of
Mersch!
The park of Mersch has undergone some serious works in the last
years. It has been enlarged, playgrounds have been built, a pond
has been installed and it is kept quite close to nature in some
parts. Three different flows (Luxembourgers call them rivers, for the rest of the
world they are possibly creeks…) meet in this park to
continue their way as a single one. They are the Eich and the Mamer
which join the Alzette north-eastwards
to the Cachesite.
Over 20 years ago, we used to drive through this park with our
bicycles, which wasn’t really allowed at that time, but we
were faster than the Police! Today, bikers may have a
sightseeing-tour if they pay attention to pedestrians. So, it can't
be compared anymore to what it was a decade ago and today it is
very nice to have a walk through it to relax and perhaps to seek a
Cache! Currently, the park is being enlarged once more and grows
even bigger...
Park your car at the given coordinates and enjoy a nice little
walk! This Cache should be stroller and wheelchair accessible for
the whole way, of course the Final is more difficult to reach,
that’s that's why the
terrain-rating is a bit higher.

From this point, you have a view on the
hall of the kindergarten. Count the spaces in the wooden structure
before the front door!

Continuing your way, you come to that pavilion which you should
enter to count the individual metal elements that hold the wooden
roof together.

In summertime, you mustn’t have a bath in this pond, in
wintertime you mustn’t step on the ice (if there is
any…). In fact, the pond’s reason is to give a home to
some flora and fauna you won’t find elsewhere in Mersch. Have
a look and count the metal cables that protect you from falling
into the water.

Many walking and bicycle ways goes
through the park, this signboard shows you the directions. Cachers
won’t trust them, but count the screws that hold the
different signs to get their direction to the Final.

You are now in the oldest part of the park and it should be the
calmest place around. But, please remember that you are still in a
public place and watch out for muggles
before grabbing and putting back the Cache. As the Cache has been
muggled, we provided a smaller box which is hidden better, please
replace it as it was!
To return to the parking,
just follow the way along the right side of the flow...
