Gowenhouse are holding their
annual event "Picnic in the Park" on Sunday 13 July 2008
at the Tithe Barn, Bradford on Avon.
For those who would like to make a
weekend of it, come and camp with us at Church
Farm, Winsley which is a short distance from the picnic venue.
This is a small campsite, so if you want to be guaranteed a pitch,
please log a Will Attend as quickly as possible. The campsite has
toilets, showers, laundry and dishwashing facilities. There are a
few electric hook ups available which are available on a first come
first served basis. There is shared use of a fridge, freezer and
microwave oven.
We will be camping for two nights:
Friday 11 July and Saturday 12 July, although if anyone wants to
stay longer this can more than likely be arranged.
Prices are as
follows:
Adults - £5.00 per night
Children (4-14 years) - £3.00 per night
Vehicles - £2.00 per night
Gazebos - £2.00 per night
Caravan/Motor Home (2 adults + car) - £12.00 per night
Electric hook up (pre-booking advised) - £2.00 per night
Awning - £1.00 per night
Dogs - 50p per night
The campsite is in an AONB and is
less than a mile from the Kennet & Avon canal. There is a bus
service approximately every 30 minutes to Bath, Bradford on Avon
and Salisbury. The nearest bus stop is approximately 500 metres
from Church Farm. The nearest train stations are Bradford on Avon
and Bath.
The nearest pub and restaurant is
The Seven Stars at Winsley. The pub has recently reopened after
being completely refurbished.
This is a low key camping event,
set to complement the Picnic in the Park on the Sunday. In order
that this camping event may be open to everyone and logable by
anyone, you are invited to come along to the site on Saturday
evening from 6pm onwards and bring your BBQ and food if you
wish.
There are approximately 130 caches
within a 5 mile radius of the campsite.
If you would like to join us,
please sign up early to avoid disappointment. There are not many
camping sites in the immediate area
