Geocache Description:

There's no place like home, one of few caches in western Chautauqua County.

I wandered south out of Kansas to look for caches in Osage County. After a while, I had enough and homesickness took over. It was a long ordeal driving north from the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. Although it was shown on the map as a road, I was long exhausted from the cattle guards, private property signs, and dodging clueless cattle in the road. As my GPS approached the magic 37.00.000, I began to wonder if there would be a good place for a cache at that magic spot. After kissing the ground, I placed this very easy roadside cache.

For those of you who think Kansas lacks scenery, consider the contrast here between the land north of the cache and the land south of the cache. I like the view to the north (especially after enduring 20 miles of open range).

Original contents of this ammo box include my own precious Kansas 105 counties scoresheet map. I think I can replicate it though. Also, there is an overabundance of Sponge Bob Square Pants stuff for the kids, an old River Festival button and some semi-precious coins (silver dimes). I kept my ruby red slippers (tennies coated with Oklahoma red mud). Toto didn't make the trip.

Cache is deliberately easy to leave time to enjoy the view.
