This cache is located about 153' above the lake surface on the Cliffs of Lake Moomaw. There are no trails leading to the cache, the terrain is difficult to moderate. Enjoy the hike from the shore below or a long tuff walk in the woods.
This is the highest natural cliff and one of the best views of the lake! If one where inclined(insane), they may think a leap into the 80 or so feet of water below the cliff to sound like fun! Not me!!!(DANGER, DON'T TRY IT). I would however take the moderate hike to see the pretty views. Just look out for the wildlife. With 13,482 acres of Gathright Wildlife Management Area and thousands of acres owned by the U. S. Forest Service surrounding the 45 miles of shoreline. Things can get interesting, I'm sure.
On a nice Memorial Day weekend, we just had to leave a cache.
The cache is a recycled large trail mix jug.
The initial contents included
2-TB, a piece of Tigers Eye, A funky Chicken, a NOAA pin, and maybe a few other items
******FTF goes to Cteam********Congrats!!!
