Geocache Description:

Wild Camping In The Middle Of Dartmoor

This is an overnight camping event in the wilds of Southern Dartmoor.

It is at least 1 1/2 miles from any road across some quite rough terrain. You will have to pick your chosen parking place and route to the event site.

At present there are twenty caches within two miles of the event location.

There are many camping events on sites where cachers bring everything including a kitchen sink! For this one you will only be able to bring what you have carried on your person. So no taps or TOILETS.

This is true backpacking and nothing will be provided. To qualify as an attendee you must camp here for the Saturday night. For information on the rules regarding camping on Dartmoor click on the User's Web Page link at the top of the page.

The location was chosen as there is a large relatively flat area of grass as far from all roads as possible. Also this will be one day after a full moon so if the weather is nice there will be some moon light.

For a bit of fun there will be a prize for the person who brings along the most ridiculous object with them. So get creative! The prize will be a wooden fruit bowl made by my own fair hands and I will be the judge.

There will probably be no signal for mobile phones at the location.

Let's have a fun time and leave no trace of our being there.
