A nice easy cache suitable for most TB's can be done as a quick cache and dash from Junction 7 on M11 (Harlow). If you do this parking is at Thornwood N51.42.431 E000.07.247 or alternatively at St. Margarets hospital which is also nearby
Wintry Wood is a small holding on the edge of Epping Forest. Come in the day and you will see lots of ducks, chickens, turkeys, geese and more. We planted this cache early evening and the place is abounding with rabbits which are fairly tame.
Wintry Wood dates back to 1200 AD and was formed under the Royal Grant of 1225. Wintry Wood has always been a part of a farm/common land and was used in past times for locals to graze their livestock free of charge.
Recently in the news as the Corporation of London did not approve of the thousands of daffodils planted there by the current leaseholder as they are not in keeping with the local fauna. There is also a book of Children's Tales written by a local author. The Tales of Wintry Wood.
At time of planting the cache contained:
Log Book, Pencil and Sharpener
Harmonica
Slinky toy
2 Bouncy Balls
Telescope
Smily Rattle
Thunderbirds R Go TB to start it's journey
