Labský náhon Traditional Geocache

Pokud se budete chovat tise muzete spatrit lednacky, vsudepritomne nutrie, kachny a obcas vedle Vas zalovi stika. Cestou muzete sbirat ctyrlistky a obdivovat místní kvetenu mezi vysokými topoly. Podle nahona vede oblibena stezka mistnich pejskaru a mužete zde narazit na rybáre. V rybárské sezóne roku 2007 bylo v celém tomto náhone uloveno kolem 5 ks štik v prumerné délce 90 cm. Kdo by to byl rekl do tak malého toku.

“Labský náhon” is a channel built sometime after 1533. It splits from Labe above the old barrage in Predmerice nad Labem and returns back above Opatovice nad Labem. It passes through Plotiste nad Labem and parts of Hradce Kralové, Kukleny and Brezhrad. In the past when it was built, it provided water for the ponds of Hradec domination and for mills further away from Labe. Its length is around 12 km.

If you are quiet, you can spot kingfishers, nutrias and ducks. Sometimes even a pike will hunt next to you! On the way, you can pick up quarterfils and admire vegetation between high poplars. The footpath along the channel is popular for walks with a dog and you can also meet fishermans around. During the fishing season of 2007, around 5 pikes with an average length of 90 cm were caught here. Who would guess it for such a small channel!

I would advise you to come from the direction of Kukleny, because the walk from the other side is not as pleasant. Be very careful, you will be passing by a guarded area of the former ZVU (at least according to the rust-stained labels on the metal fence).
