Come and join bnprood on Sunday, June 29th, 2008 between the
hours of 1:00p.m. and 5:00p.m. as they host a picnic to say goodbye
to Columbus and central Ohio. This family oriented event will be
held at the Walnut Ridge Park Shelter In Westerville. The shelter
will accommodate approximately 80 people, so please post in your
"will attend" how many will be in your party. Nearby playground
equipment and flush restroom facilities make this a great location
for a gathering. There is a charcoal grill to fire up and 2
electrical outlets so you can bring those plug-in coolers too!
The picnic will be more of a pot-luck lunch, so please bring
your favorite dessert, side, or appetizer to share. Please post in
your log what you plan on bringing so we do not have too many
duplicate items (although if everyone brought chocolate chip
cookies it would not be a bad thing). Hot dogs and buns will be
provided by the hosts, but if you want something different you are
more than welcome to bring a meat to throw on the grill. Guests
will also need to bring their own drinks, but please keep in mind
that Westerville Parks strictly prohibits the use of alcohol on
their premises. Please also feel free to bring any fun outdoor
games to share.
Dogs are permitted at all Westerville parks, but leash and
scooper laws are enforced. So bring yourself, the kids, the pets,
and the trackable items to share and come join the fun! If you have
never attended an event, typically other cachers gather around and
talk about their highs and lows while out on the hunt. There is
traditionally a table set up to swap trackable items, and many
people bring their own trackables and coins to let others discover.
It usually is a great time to meet others who are just as addicted
to this sport as you are!
The event will be held rain or shine since the shelter is
covered. So come on out and say farewell to bnprood as they head on
out to New York!
