Geocache Description:

St Peter's is a popular Church which can be busy on Sunday mornings and some Tuesday mornings, so parking and access may be restricted. This cache has been added to The Shropshire Church Gems series of caches as originally conceived by The Washers, so thanks for their inspiration.

St Peter's Church is situated in Wrockwardine, a small village just outside Wellington. Views of the Wrekin and the Ercall are really lovely from here especially from Drummery Lane and it's worth having a walk round the village. Some parts of the Church date back to the 12th Century. It was named St Peters in 1435 it is cruciform in appearance with a central tower and stair turret, and north and south chapels. Reverend Turreff was the Vicar from 1906 to 1945, he was a very popular vicar who was remembered by his parishioners who named the bungalows in the village after him.
