What's My Line? Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Vertighost: Cache owner (CO) has not responded and, as there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), contact me via email (vertighost@yandex.com), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. A number of factors will go into my decision, the most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me.

Geocache Description:

Cache is not at the listed coordinates.

The posted coordinates used to be a Blockbuster video store when this cache was originally placed.

I love movies, and love to quote lines from movies, weaving them into conversation when possible. As one of my old college roommates could attest, we would often “quote obscure lines from obscure movies just for the heck of it.” I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my love of movies, and those oh so brilliant movie lines than with a puzzle cache.

The actual cache is a .50 cal. ammo can located at:

N 29° 32.ABC W 95° 04.DEF

There will be some bushwhacking at the final, so be prepared.

For each letter, I will give you a line from a movie, and you will need to know which character said it. All of these lines come from a movie, and may or may not necessarily be in the book (if there is a book version). Once you’ve determined which character said the line, substitute that number for the missing coordinate. Part of the challenge of this puzzle is having to figure out what movie the lines came from. Some of these lines will be well known, while others may be a bit more obscure. All of these lines come from some of my favorite movies.

A. Charlie don’t surf!
B. Surrender? I’d rather have Witty treat my hemorrhoids.
C. Fair’s fair, Henry. If I nail Hotlips and hit Hawkeye, can I go home too?
D. We’ve had one, yes, but what about second breakfast?
E. Hey bird, did you happen to see a Hare-Krisha midget, in the tree, floatin’? Or is it me?
F. Excuse me, when did the Mongols rule China?

FTF and STF get their choice of one of two movies:
Dances With Wolves (factory sealed DVD)
Stand By Me (factory sealed DVD)

Original contents of this cache include a factory sealed DVD comedy called Bananas Bunch, some Looney Tunes pencils, a deck of cards, a couple of water pistols and as much other swag as I could fit in.

Travel bugs are welcome, and encouraged.

So, in the spirit of this cache, I leave you with:

“Well then, there’s not a moment to lose. Quick is the word and sharp is the action.”
