On the side of Wee Binnian overlooking Silent Valley. This may be a hard one to find but the reward is the view. Suitable for kids - but there are lots of loose stones and steep ground.
Take care going to this cache. The terrian is steep and the final location is on a steep part of the mountain. But it was Laura (9) who found this hiding place so kids can have a bit of fun looking for this one. But remember you are in the mountains so take care and go prepared!
The best way to this one is to approach from the Head Road side of the mountain. You can park at the Mission Hall on the Head Road and head up the path which is about 50m back toward Silent Valley. Pleased do not drive up the path. I know the farmers who live along the path and they are very supportive of walkers and have no problem with them walkling up the path but there is no parking available so leave the car on the road.
You can approach from many other ways. But to make the find as easy as possible when you get to the top of the mountain locate the top of the gully and follow the instructions from there.
Looking at Wee Binnian there is a very obvious gully. I love this way up the mountain. It is a scramble with loose rock and some people may not like this direct approach. But it's great fun and when you get to the top you walk through the gap and blown away by the view into Silent Valley. This is potentially one of the areas that inspired CS Lewis when he wrote The Lion, The Witch and Wardrobe.
At the top of the gully go straight through the gap in front of you and head toward Silent Valley. The Cache located on your left hand side, off the track. It will be a challenging search.
It's a large Tab Lock box hidden under a boulder with a stone in front of it.
