We were heading out to the Baseball Diamond caches south of Dugway. The trip there was filled with some driving adventures. The younger members of the group were getting a wee bit restless so we pulled over to have lunch at this spot. I had just recently acquired the materials to start placing caches. It was my goal to place a cache of my own on this trip. This spot seemed the perfect place to do so. Here it is, my first cache! So many good hiding spots it was hard to pick just the right one. That and the likely GPS interference from the shelter and trees are what determined the difficulty. The replacement container also bumped it up a few notches.
Be careful of muggles. Like many shelters in parks, if it is in use by muggles it will impossible to go after the cache discretely.
Bring a pen. It is a log only cache. Hope this adds to the enjoyment of the trip by other cachers after the Baseball Diamond as they are on their way to Dugway.
***On 3/21/2010 I updated my GSAK "My Finds" database and received messages that each of the Baseball Diamond caches had changed status from available to unavailable. The cache pages revealed ALL of the Baseball Diamond caches had been muggled. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say, unfortunately, stolen. With all the ATV activity out there muggles may have stumbled on a few, but all of them?! Many thanks to Wild George for the fun the Baseball Diamond provided over the years. Let this cache stand in memorial of that fun. Perhaps after enough time has passed, he or a community of cachers would be willing to set it back up.
