A Magnetic geocache on an old deserted bridge.
Update on 1July2021: A new bridge was built next to the old bridge. The cache is on the old bridge.
Two men working on this bridge when we drove by said that it used to be part of US 66 about a gazillion Years ago and it has just been sitting there since I-25 swept through the area (see photo). Some say US 66 never made it this far south. Some say that it spured to Belen. An old map that we have has it listed as "OLD HWY 85". Regardless, there is an old fashioned must see rust and wood trim bridge with a steel canopy out along I-25 that you must see. What a neat old bridge. Pallid bats (Antrozous pallidus) and swallows now call it home. Such fond memories netting bats here and seeing fox run below. Such fond memories of driving south with the folks. There was a neat ammo can cache here about 2 years ago but when it was muggled all the contents were burned in a little fire so we have well wishes for our new little cache. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we do.!
