Requires some equipment; a boat (canoe, kayak, waders, or for
some....Speedo-s); climbing stuff and a bit of ingenuity. We placed
it with the Raritan River at Manville gage reading 4.6 ft. and
should still be doable just above 5'. Hard to believe that the
highest recorded water mark for this gage was just over 27' on Sept
16, 1999, at which point, the cache would be well under water.
Don't forget to check out near-by cache Fluvial Erosion
You can get near ground zero via a short paddle with easy river
access from Raritan, then downstream to Manville, a 3 mile-ish
trip. Or, put-in near the Somerville 206 bridge (harder river
access) and .3 mile paddle up to the cache and back.
