Geocache Description:

Cache is not at the posted coordinates. To solve the puzzle below you will need to get a hold of a copy of ' Wood in Australia : types, properties and uses' by Keith R. Bootle. This book is available from good libraries (E.g. NLA) or bookshops. Container is a small Sistema box

In order to find solve the puzzle you will need to look up each of the trees below in the book. Once found, find and note the number that corresponds to the information that has been given about that species, in order to obtain the coordinates of WP1.

Guaiacum: ADD about 1200 kg/m^3

Dyera costulata: Easy to work. Gives a very smooth finish. Glues satisfactorily. Nails well. Good for carving

Pterygota bequaertii: A lartge hardwood of the west African rainforests

Dalbergia melanoxylon: Very strong, possibly S1

Anodopetalum biglandulosum: Firm but not difficult to work

Dracontomelum mangiferum: S5, SD6

Flindersia bourjotiana: Virtually limited to Queensland

Fagus sylvatica: A hardwood commmon throughout Europe. A number of other Fagus species grow in Canada and eastern Asia and have reather similar properties

Dacrydium franklinii: Easy to dry without degrade. Srinkage about 2.5 per cent radial, 3 per cent tangential

Pinus Radiata: Because of the large areas being planted in Australia and New Zealand, this species is destined ot be the major general purpose timber in Australia

At or near WP1: Find the sign.
