The Meadows
History
The Meadows was acquired by the City Council in 1929, when local business man Alderman Brown donated the money to the City Council to buy the land so it could be used as a place for recreation for the people of Chester. Since then, the need to conserve this area for nature conservation purposes has been recognised (only 25% of grassland of this type remains in England), and the City Council endeavours to combine these two functions of The Meadows in a way that is beneficial for all.
Suggested parking is at N53 11.087' W002 52.669'
A lovely walk across the meadows. Enjoy!
