This cache is one of a ten part series on the solar system. You can
visit each of the nine traditional planets collecting clues along
the way which may eventually lead you to the Sun, our closest star.
So put on your space helmet, fasten your seat belt, and prepare to
experience the wonders of our solar neighborhood. Don’t forget to
observe carefully along the way!

Venus in named for the goddess of love, but it’s environment is
certainly not conducive to romance. With temperatures soaring above
900 degrees F. and an atmospheric pressure high enough to crush a
human being, it seems unlikely that anything could survive on
Venus. It’s atmosphere is 96 % carbon dioxide which creates a
tremendous greenhouse effect and scorching temperatures. Being the
second closest planet to the sun at .73 A.U., Venus occasionally
transits the sun as seen from Earth. During this rare event, Venus
appears as a small black marble moving across the face of the sun.
Your next and probably last chance to witness this event will be
June 5-6 of 2012. Caution: Due to the phenomenon of time dilation
caused by traveling at velocities near the speed of light don’t be
surprised if at the end of your journey that you find yourself
looking significantly younger than your family and friends. (If in
fact they’re still there at all!)
There are 10 planet cards as trade items except for first to find.
Be the first kid on your block to collect all 10.
