In Val d'Ossola e più precisamente in Valle Antigorio, località Premia
[ITA] L'architetto futurista Antonio Sant'Elia definì le centrali idroelettriche delle vere e proprie "cattedrali", sia per la loro maestosità che per l'architettura ricercata, pur essendo state create nel rispetto dell'ambiente naturale nel quale sorgono.
La costruzione dei fabbricati in Val d'Ossola fu affidata principalmente all'architetto Piero Portaluppi.
Tra gli anni Venti e Trenta Portaluppi progetta alcune delle grandi "cattedrali" elettriche lungo l'arco alpino (Verampio, Crego, Crevaldossola, Cadarese, Piacenza) che segnano la prima, fondamentale fase dell'elettrificazione del Paese e che rappresentano ancora oggi dei veri e propri monumenti alla Modernita' nascente in Italia.
[ENG]Antonio Sant' Elia futurist architect defined the hydroelectric powerplant "cathedral" , for their majesty, for the searched architecture, created in the respect of natural environment.
The construction in Val d' Ossola was entrusted mainly to architect Piero Portaluppi. Between the years Twenty and Thirty Portaluppi plans some of the " cathedrals" powerplant (Verampio, Crego, Crevaldossola, Cadarese, Piacenza) , fundamental phase of electrification of the Country and that represent still today monuments to the Modernity rising in Italy.
