A quick and relatively easy multi which should take no more than about 15 minutes.
Coordinates are for an information board (lower one) where you will find the answers to questions that will lead you to the cache.
This cache is dedicated to the Canadian military who were stationed in Surrey during the second World war. Thousands of men were stationed in the borough and were assisting with civil defence duties, constructing pill boxes and civil engineering projects as well as preparing for the Normandy landings. The troops were well received by the British and their voluntary work within the local community was much appreciated. The nearby road bridge [and Young St on which it runs] was originally constructed by the Canadians who were based in nearby Leatherhead. The streets in and around the town were too narrow to carry the tanks which were being brought into the town for repair and a more substantial road was required. Also, close to my home town (Redhill) there is a church hall, still standing, that was built by the Canadians in their own time. This replaced one bombed by the Germans in 1940. My thanks also to the Canadians who I have met on a number of visits to Canada skiing and sightseing. Refreshingly far more 'European' than those on the otherside of the border !
