Geocache Description:

Scouting began in England in 1907-08, created by
General Robert Baden-Powell.

The Anthony Wayne Area Council was chartered to the relatively new Boy Scouts of America organization in April 1917, to serve boys in northeastern Indiana. Since 1917, the council has grown geographically, but the fundamental principals of our programs remain based in the mission of the Boy Scouts of America, “to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law”, which hasn’t changed since 1910.

AWAC serves more than 8,500 Scouting youth in 11 Counties in 6 Districts.

.
My husband is a Scout Master, my oldest son is an Eagle Scout and in a Venturing Crew and my youngest son is a Boy Scout. It only seemed fitting for me to place a cache at our council headquarters.

Scout Law
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight

The cache is a bison. It is not in the lamp post. Bees have inhabited the post.

I placed an On My Honor zipper pull in the cache for FTF.
