Geocache Description:

This is now a quick 4 stage Multi in well groomed and maintained park over easy terrain.

Each Memorial Day the borough of Hightstown honors its veterans by hosting a parade. The idea for this cache came to me (Air) while watching 'Fire', this past Memorial day, present the colors as part of Hightstown Fire Department's color guard for a memorial service lakeside complete with 21 gun salute, a trumpeter playing Taps and a bag piper playing Amazing Grace while military personnel drop a wreath into the lake to remember their fallen brethren. In light of this remembrance and realizing there are several memorials around the lake I decided that 'Peddie Lake' needed a cache at these memorials that would allow us as Geocachers to as well honor our Veterans. By paying a visit to each of these memorials you will progress to a final memorial that only a few know exist or at the least remember is there. So here we go......

The posted coordinates will take you to the first memorial. This memorial, presented by the American Legion and VFW honors all branches of the military, side by side.

To determine Stage 2 Coords:

on the first memorial locate the American Legion Post#, this number becomes the XXX.

North = XXX + 55 = 16._ _ _

West = XXX + 211 = 31._ _ _

When you arrive at Stage 2 you will find a memorial honoring Veterans that were residents of Hightstown. Take a second or two to pay your respects while you notice the TOTAL known number of Veterans the two plaques combined honor. With this number in hand you can calculate the coordinates of the final stage.

To Determine Stage 3 Coords:

Take this number YYYY and do the calculations below:

(the amount of Y's MAY OR MAY NOT indicate the total you are looking for)

North = YYYY - 333 = 16._ _ _

West = YYYY - 101 = 31._ _ _

These coordinates will take you to a small ground plaque that few know of or remember.

From here the cache is close. But one more set of numbers need to be calculated:

To Determine Stage 4 Coords:

While at this last plaque take note of the day and last 2 digits of the year and solve the problem below for the final hide location.

Day = North = ZZ + 067 = ______

Year = West = 391 - ZZ = ______

Search and Ye shall find. Just remember,,,,

Don't be petty ... honor those who serve both past AND present.
