The three South Mountain Stroll are located on South Mountain in Pittsfield. The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) headquarters - Visitor Center and the South Mountain Concert Hall is located off this dirt road off of South St. (Rt. 20). Look for the signs.
This cache is found on a marked blue-blazed trail and is reached by walking a short distance from the parking lot (N 42 25.139, W 073 15.759), up the dirt road and with the entrance to the left. The entire trail is ‘P’ shaped with three other caches. Its views are best before and after leaf foliage. But, it’s fun to do any time. Up, around, and back is about an hour and a half hike.
