Geocache Description:

3rd in a series of caches set around Burton-in-Kendal. A gentle walk through Parkland, Woodland, hedgerow enclosed pathways and a Canal towpath.

These caches may be done individually but as we know, many cachers are really ' Walkers with an aim in life'we felt that for those who are looking for a circular walk, that can be tackled by the whole Family over a distance of approx 6.5km that takes about 3-4 hours then this maybe just for you.
There is a short section in Clawthorpe Wander. Woods . that, thanks to the cattle, chews up a bit and becomes 'Muddy !!) after rain. The rest of the route is flat, dry and easy going.

From the centre of Burton-in-Kendal (now fully refreshed) continue down Neddy Hillgate to cross the M6 at the bridge where Cumbria Police locate their 'Safety Cameras' for the benefit of the drivers on the Northbound carriageway of the M6. So considerate are they, that they park the van behind the trees just so the drivers are not blinded by the reflection of the afternoon sun.
Join the Lancaster-Kendal Canal towpath and return to the Parking at N 54.11.928 W002.43. 528. On the way you will find the last of the caches CLAWTHORPE WANDER. BOAT.

A small rectangular plastic box contains logbook only.
PLEASE BRING A WRITING IMPLEMENT.
The pond below the Canal used to provide the water to the Mill in Holme. Along the canal we spotted you foals, Swans with cygnets, Geese etc.
