Geocache Description:

THIS IS A HEAVY MUGGLE SPOT SO TAKE CARE, IF NECESSARY GO AND “PADDLE THE PINE” WHILE YOU ARE WAITING FOR PEOPLE TO MOVE ON.

So what do you know about Petrie?

• Andrew Petrie was a noted civil engineer, pioneer, explorer and the first free settler in Brisbane
• he and his family arrived on the ‘James Watt’, the first steamer to enter Moreton Bay.
• He was the first European man to climb Mount Beerwah
• was also the first to bring back samples of the Bunya pine when exploring
• He explored the Maroochy River area
• In 1842 he discovered the Mary River
• John Petrie (his son) was the first mayor of Brisbane

So what has this got to do with the cache? Nothing at all except it is in Petrie.

So now there is one more cache in Petrie. So bring a picnic lunch and a fishing line and spend the day at the location. There is even an off leash area nearby for the geo-hound.
