Geocache Description:

A quick? park and grab to test your stealthiness and to get you to visit downtown Brookhaven.

Brookhaven was founded by Samuel Jayne in 1818. It grew rapidly as a railway terminus after 1851. It was a recruiting and hospital center during the Civil War. Near the cache is the old train depot, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Union Station was built around 1907. It now contains the Military Memorial Museum (open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 AM to 3 PM). It is still an active Amtrak station, the City of New Orleans stops here twice a day on it's travel between Chicago and New Orleans. Notice the fence at the rear of the depot, it is part of the original New Orleans Customs House fence.

The cache is near the street, stealth is necessary, muggles abound. It is a magnetic keyholder with log only. Bring your own writing instrument. Thanks to Steenroller for the idea to place one here.

Congratulations to pater47 on FTF!
