Sovereign ATV Loop Trail near Archview RV Park
The coffee might not be sovereign, but the trail is. The real reason I decided to put this cache here is that this section of the Sovereign ATV Loop has only been officially part of the Sovereign Loop for a few weeks—since May 2008. What a surprise to walk Lucy out there one morning and see the sign.
When we started to come to this area to visit Miriam around 1996 there wasn’t even a trail here. Jim was working for Miriam on programming projects back then and since she comes here every spring and fall we did too. While they were programming I spent many hours hiking here, putting up cairns, so I wouldn’t get lost, collecting rocks, and enjoying the solitude. And then, one year when we got here there was evidence of more use and a real trail began to take form. We retired 3 years ago and now live and travel in a 5th wheel and continue to visit Miriam and Molly and park by her trailer. We bought an ATV and now instead of walking back there we drive.
So, with fond memories of “the good old days” I salute the Sovereign ATV Loop and hope everyone enjoys our back yard. Ride with respect for our beautiful desert and all the little creatures that live here.
The cache is a short walk off the ATV trail along what used to be my old walking trail.
