Bute Park
Surrounded by and made up of historical points of interest, such
as Cardiff Castle, the Animal Wall, the Blackfriars site and the
Gorsedd Stones, Bute Park forms the green centre of Cardiff. The
landscapers Capability Brown (18th century) and Andrew Pettigrew
(19th century) contributed with their designs to the park's
present-day appearance. In 1947 the fifth Marquis of Bute donated
the park to Cardiff Council.
For those who love plants and trees, the arboretum and
herbaceous borders are a real treat, especially in spring and
summer.

If you are interested in finding
the final bonus cache, have a look at the picture inside the cache
and guess which river is depicted on it. It might be handy to take
a camera with you to photograph the information and do the research
at home.
This cache is part of a series of caches around Cardiff's
rivers, but as we are waiting for the completion of the Ely trail
the series is still unfinished.
