DO go into the picnic area in the southbound
service center south of the King City exit.
How many times have you traveled past this service center and
noticed a parking area and wondered why is that there? Come on in
and find out.
The picnic area gates are opened from the May long
weekend to the Thanksgiving Day long weekend in October.
When the gates are opened this is a very short hike but on
difficult moraine-like terrain. In the winter if there is more than
6 inches of snow on the ground, do not bother to walk in from the
service center to look for this one.
