Geocache Description:

A walk on part of The Kerry Way through woods, beside a lake and rising up to open mountainside. Some parts are very wet and muddy, so good walking boots are essential. Plan for at least 2 hours (round trip) from the suggested car park.

The Kerry Way Walking Trail

At 215km, the Kerry Way is currently Ireland's longest signposted walking trail and also one of the most popular. The trail starts and finishes in the busy tourist destination of Killarney. Looping around the Iveragh Peninsula, the Kerry Way goes anti-clockwise, passing through some of the most isolated and dramatic countryside in the country.
For more details, look at the Kerry Way website.

The Cache

The cache is hidden along a very nice part of the Kerry Way, overlooking Lough Currane, Waterville and Balinskelligs Bay. The suggested parking spot is not the nearest to the cache, but we strongly recommend to use it because of the scenic drive along the lake and the nice walk from it. Please drive carefully because the road is very narrow. From the parking area, first follow the unpaved road for about 3km and then turn off left at the Kerry Way sign (waypoint provided) and continue to follow these signs until you reach the cache area. The cache itself is a plastic tab-lock box and the hide should be fairly obvious.
