This tucked-away county park south of Deception Pass State Park is one of my favorites for beach walks. It offers spectacular views of mountains, islands and water. Once known as Ben Ure Spit, some of the local features that dominate the scenery are, Mount Erie, the large hill to the northwest, Skagit Island State Park, (due east) and Hope Island, (just to the northeast). It’s also a great place to watch birds and boats. There are even a couple of impressive makeshift shelters to get you out of the elements if needed.
You must find the closest found Benchmark to find the final. Start walking on the trail north. When you come to a choice go left.Eventually you will come to the benchmark. (You might even trip on it on your walk!) Once you have found the benchmark, the cache is 138 feet on a true bearing of 341 degrees.
