Geocache Description:

Straightforward cache just down from from the top of the hill (to avoid casual visitors and hooligans alike). Take Santa Fe County Rd 123 (Cerro Piñon Rd) from State Hwy 503. Some maps are deceptive as there seems to be no access from the south over Nambé Pueblo land.

The final climb up Cerro Piñon is a bit rough, but I did it my sedan. Parking less than 250' away, but then you'll have to dismount for the short climb up and over.

The cache itself it not the highlight here, I just threw it together from some leftovers in the trunk. The views are what make the trip worthwhile.
To the East: The Pecos wilderness and the Sangre de Cristo range, the southernmost part of the Rocky Mountains.
To the West: Nambé, Pojoaque, the Española Valley and in the distance Los Alamos and the Jemez.
To the Southwest: Santa Fe and the Sandias in the distance
To the Northeast: Boy Scout Camp Frank Rand sitting in the canyon immediately below.

Enjoy, but watch out for the Cholla!
