Geocache Description:

Signal at Wilson Creek Falls

The "Wilson Creek Loop" will involve approximately 100 kms of driving. 35 kms is on a paved highway. The other 65 kms is on the Wilson Creek FSR which is described as a good, 2 wheel drive, gravel road, and while that is mostly true the section from Wilson Lake East along Wilson lake has some rather rough sections. Having said that we saw more than one newer car on the road during our two day camping trip to place this series of caches. While the tour can be done either direction we have chosen to give you driving directions from the Rosebery end.

This tour will take you to several pristine mountain lakes and spectacular waterfalls with plenty of opportunities for camping, hiking, and fishing. To get the most enjoyment out of this caching series we strongly recommend bringing your camping gear. Also don't forget your camera, bug spray, and fishing rods. As always, remember to be bear aware.

Wilson Creek Falls is described as one of the most spectacular waterfalls in British Columbia. The day we hid the cache it was truly amazing watching the spray blowing upward at the edge of the falls. Well worth the 1.1 kilometer hike to the falls. We hid the cache well back from the mist and spray but be sure to go just a little farther down the trail and take in this awesome sight.

No complaining about the steepness of the trail coming back out from the falls and don't forget your clue. Mrs. Pirate forgot to put the clues in the cache and realized just as we leveled out from the climb back up - so we got to do the climb twice.
Reception is awful so be sure to take the clue with you.

From the Hwy 31A jct in New Denver, drive 3.3 miles (5.3km) north on Hwy 6 to East Wilson Creek FSR. Turn right and drive 7.1 miles (11.5km) to a dirt road turnoff (signed for Wilson Creek Falls). Turn right and drive 0.4 miles (0.6km) up this dirt road to the signed trail for Wilson Creek Falls.

In order to locate the final cache: "Wilson Creek Loop Final" you must visit ten caches. Each cache will have a clue
written on the lid as well as in the logbook. Write the clue down.

As this is a stand-a-lone cache, you are welcome to just log this cache if you don't have time to take in the entire tour.
