This 2-part multi takes you to a historical spot on the University of the Pacific campus. Easy terrain.
The University of the Pacific was founded in 1851 in Santa Clara, CA, moving to Stockton in 1924. It is a beautiful campus. As always, please be respectful of the grounds.
Visitor parking can be found in front of Burns Tower, a hard to miss landmark on campus just off of Pacific Avenue. If you are caching on a weekday, 8-5, stop in Burns Tower for a visitor parking pass. If you visit after 5 or on weekends, you can park anywhere on campus without a permit, except for designated handicapped parking spots.
The coordinates of the first cache takes you to a marker commemorating an event that happened over half a century ago. The marker records the date of the event and a measurement of time that makes the event so special. Read the marker to appreciate what happened those many years ago.
To get to the next cache, you will need to note the date and time. Add the individual digits of the date to arrive at a number (include the month). For example, if the date were April 15, 1943, you would add the digits 4+1+5+1+9+4+3 to get 27. Add the digits of the time in the same way. The actual cache with a log to mark your find is located at:

YYY: multiply the sum of the time digits by 35, then add 7
Note: the second stage of this cache was muggled in Sept 2009 and June 2013, and replaced with a different container at a different location. The new cache is a small container with a log only, so bring a pen or pencil.
Enjoy your walk around campus. The cache is given a 1.5 for difficulty because of the muggle activity between classes. Have fun!
