Geocache Description:


Located along Coyote Ridge this cache should give you a reason to make the great escape of the house and get up into the hills and take a look at town from a different perspective. The hike will take a couple of hours (2-5, 4-8 if you go all the way to the peak)depending upon which way you approach it. If you park at the nearby trail head off of Honey Bear you will be able ascend Coyote Ridge rather easily and have a gradual trail for the elevation gain from the parking area to the cache. The trailhead is brand new, “officially” last year, but the trail has been used for many years now.

The view is sensational. Do not forget your camera. Be safe and enjoy an amazing view and a scenic trip through Bear Valley if you want to take the exploratory approach to finding one of the many closer parking areas. Just remember closer doesn’t always mean quicker.

A friend called me and told me he wanted to get into the ridges this summer, so here is a cache especially for him. It is a rather easy hike, mostly a well defined trail, only a small bit of scramble and a gradual ascent and descent. The cache is located at an elevation of just over 3900’.

This is a ridge that just about everyone can do. Remember, when you are in the hills it is not a race, take your time and enjoy the splender we are so lucky to live in.
