WE'VE ALL HEARD THE SAYING
"A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND
WORDS" RIGHT? WELL THIS SERIES HOPES TO PROVE
JUST THAT. YOU ALSO HAVE HD'S ASSURANCE THAT THIS SERIES WILL TAKE
YOU TO SOME REALLY SPECIAL PLACES. CO-ORDINATES IN THIS SERIES WILL
USUALLY BRING YOU TO PARKING. YOU'LL ALSO BE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS ON
WHERE TO GO FROM THERE.
TO FIND THIS PARTICULAR CACHE, PRINT
THE PICTURE ON THIS PAGE, THEN GO TO THE PARKING CO-ORDS ABOVE. YOU
WILL DRIVE BY THIS BUILDING ON YOUR WAY TO PARKING. THE SMILEY YOU
RECEIVE FOR FINDING THIS CACHE IS NOTHING COMPARED TO WALKING
THROUGH THIS BUILDING IF YOU'RE HERE WHEN IT IS
OPEN.
This building is the Maine State
Building. It was built as part of the Maine state pavilion for the
Columbian Exposition at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. When the
fair was over It was purchased for $30,000, disassembled, and
brought by rail to Danville Junction, from there its parts were
transported by horse and wagons to this spot. It was then
reassembled. It is open to the public from 9am to 4 pm tues thru
sat.
THE CACHE SHOULD BE
AN EASY FIND. YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEARCH IN ANY SHRUBS, TREES OR
ANYWHERE ON THE LAWNS, OR IN THE GARDENS.
THIS IS ON PRIVATE
PROPERTY, PLEASE RESPECT IT. AS WITH ALL OF HD'S PRIVATE PROPERTY
CACHE HUNTS, IT HAS BEEN PLACED WITH PERMISSION.
NOW GO PUT YOURSELF
IN THE PICTURE AND FIND THE CACHE.
