Located close to the downtown area of South Bass Island, better known as Put-in-Bay. You will need to take a ferry from Catawba Island (Miller Boat Line) or Port Clinton (Jet Express) to reach this cache.
This cache is dedicated to all the men and women who volunteer their time to the Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Department and the Put-in-Bay Volunteer Emergency Medical Services. These volunteers serve the Lake Erie Islands year round, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They have participated in not only house fires and medical emergencies but also ice rescues, airplane and boat accidents, water rescues…any emergency incident that requires attention in Put-in-Bay Township (includes all the Bass Islands and the smaller surroundings islands).
These men and women, and all emergency volunteers everywhere, dedicate their lives to serving their communities at a moment's notice. This cache is a salute to them. Thank you!
Please bring a pencil or pen along with you. You will probably need to use the hint as the container is locked. It is not inside any of the buildings. It is approved by the fire department.
