Hey look, South Peak Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions

At an elevation 7,725 feet. Cache is located a little north of the east end of South Mano Trail. I started early from open space parking at the east end of Copper Ave NE. All Coords listed below. This is not just a leisurely stroll. There is an elevation gain of right around 1700 feet + or -. The day I placed the cache it reached the lower 90's temperature wise and I personally went through four 20 ounce bottles of water. Then of course, some may think of me as an over the hill light weight. :-)
This is an ammo box cache. Original contents: Log books, pens, REI belt, space blanket, carabiners and a number of other items(I forgot what they all were now) for keeping and or trade. I have a prize for the FTF included and described in the log packet. You really can't miss it.:-)
On June 12th 08 I went to visit some of the caches along South Mano Trail. My main intention was to visit the Schedule 40 caches. This cache is located a fairly easy walk just 2 tenths of a mile due east of ZenGuru's "Schedule 40 Redux"(GC1A7GP)cache which he placed in honor of geocacher Mouser. He mentioned this area was a great place for caches. I agree. I figured one more might just give more folks the incentive to hike up and visit this nice area of the South Sandia's. I noticed there was a nice view of South Peak at the spot I placed this cache. I may camp out the next time I'm up there. As always, whatever you do be careful and come prepared.
CYCLEGREEN.....all I can say is wow.:-) Congrats on another FTF.
