Cache situated on a footpath from Stow Hill, Paston Road to B1145 Mundesley
This is a small cache hidden on a footpath that runs behind the windmill, from Stow Hill, Paston Road, all the way down to B1145.
The foot path is quite a narrow path, so unsuitable for bikes or push chairs. The vegetation is regularly cut back and shouldn’t be too much of a problem, but wear long trousers in case of nettles.
Stow Hill Mill is situated on Stow Hill just outside Mundesley on the North Norfolk Coast on the road to Paston. Built between 1825 and 1827 as a corn windmill it operated from 1828 until 1930, a period of over 100 years. Then stripped of its machinery it was converted into a small home annexed to the original mill house. In 1960 it was decided by the Norfolk County Council that the mill was worthy of preservation and some financial assistance was given. Since then the mill has been kept and looked after by private owners and is open to the public all year round.
A small car park is available with a gift shop including miniature replicas of the windmill itself and a gallery of modern art. The views form the top are lovely.
