A traditional cache on the eastern edge of Frensham Big Pond bewtween Hindhead and Farnham in Surrey
Frensham Pond is a beautiful natural pond surrounded by Bull Rushes and natural sandy beaches on the northern edge.
A very active and successful sailing club is located on the Southern shore and there have been several Olympic class sailors who have learnt to sail at this club.
Numerous car parking spots nearby, but the main areas are the large car park located at N 51 09.46 W 000 47.60. The cache is about half a mile from this car park. This car park can get busy on weekends in the summer and there is also a car parking charge at weekends during the summer.
Parking at Frensham Pond Hotel, N 51 09.20 W 000 47.92 is free and this then is directly opposite the cach on the other side of the pond. To walk right round the pond will take a good hour and half and the going can get very sandy. The area around the cache is very sandy and is not recommended for any sort of wheels.
As the name suggests, to find the cache you will need to be prepared to get wet feet or have wellies with you.
PLEASE TAKE CARE OF ANY CHILDREN AS THE LOCATION IS CLOSE TO WATER.
FROM EARLY LOGS PEOPLE HAVE FOUND BROKEN BOTTLES IN THE AREA SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF REMOVING FOOTWARE!!!!
