Geocache Description:

A fairly easy cache within walking distance of Sevenoaks town centre.

The inscription on an old drinking fountain in the top corner of the meadow reads:- “Kippington Meadow was given to the people of Sevenoaks by Canon H. Percy Thompson for 24 years vicar of this parish and his wife for preservation as an open space in its state of natural beauty”. His father William, a wealthy tea broker in the City, had purchased Kippington House and Estate in 1864 following the death of Col. George Austen MP, a second cousin of Jane Austen. PLEASE NOTE the adjacent road is private and gated, but there are public footpaths to the meadow, and parking can be found on the town centre side. The cache itself is a small container with room for a few swaps.
