About the film:
SOMEWHERE IN TIME, made in 1980, stars the late Christopher Reeve in a romantic role designed to break him away from his Superman identification. The story begins with a playwright (Reeve) celebrating the success of his first play. Just after the show, he is approached by an elderly woman who presses an antique pocket watch into his hand and whispers, "Come back to me." A few years later, during a period of writer's block, he sees a photograph in a hotel museum, and learns that this elderly woman was once a talented and lovely actress by the name of Elise McKenna. Mysteriously drawn to the expression on the woman's face in the photograph, he becomes obsessed with meeting her again, so much so that he turns to a former professor for insights on time travel. With self-hypnosis, and removing reminders of the present as the keys, the playwright eventually awakens the day before Elise McKenna's August 1912 performance at the Grand Hotel! Elise McKenna is played by the beautiful medicine woman herself-Jane Seymore. Christopher Plummer plays Elise’s manager, who secretly loves her and attempts to stop the romance. The film was shot at the famous Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan. It has a great soundtrack by John Barry (of the James Bond soundtracks fame) and the story and screenplay were written by the prolific Richard Matheson, a former Twilight Zone writer.
About the cache:
We were out caching, took a wrong turn, and discovered White City Park. We took a few minutes to drive around it on a beautiful sunny Father’s Day and Fuz commented that it was like going back in time to an old fashioned park. That's when it hit us that this would be a great place for a cache.
