This cache was approved by John Meredith of Crown Hill Cemetery today, 5-6-2009. The cache is not at this location, but it is close by. Depending on the season, the closing time varies. There are several stone benches around if you get caught inside after the gates close!
This cache replaces GCK0ZV Resting in Peace??? The Wright-Whitesell-Gentry Cemetery was relocated from Castleton to Crown Hill starting in August 2007 and finished with the dedication on June 11 of 2008. The reburial of the remains in their original configuration and the refurbished headstones now rest in the Pioneer Cemetery area of Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. The original cemetery was established in 1841 and 33 graves were found. It was moved so expansion of I-69 and I-465 could be completed. Although this isn't the original "final resting place" for these people, it seems better than right beside the very busy interstate in Castleton. The coords lead you to a stone marker for the cemetery. On the north side of the marker is listed the burial locations for the Wright-Whitesell-Gentry Cemetery. There are two columns of names and dates, look for the 6th name and date from the top of the right column, subtract 1245 from this date for the last 3 digits of the N coord. For the W coord, see the 7th name and date from the top of the right column and subtract 961 from that number. This will give you the coords for the actual cache location. You are looking for a preform tube not far from this location. (The first numbers of the coords do not change, just the last three). Be aware of mourners, muggles and employees while searching for the final cache location, it is not too close to any gravesites.
