Dies ist die Neuauflage des alten Synagogencaches. Aus dem Multi ist jetzt ein einfacher Traditional geworden, der hoffentlich jetzt nicht mehr dauernd nasse Füße bekommt. Hovari meinte dort gehört unbedingt ein Cache hin. Also hier ist er! Und das Beste, er kann natürlich auch von allen ehemaligen Findern neu gesucht werden ;-)

 Begebt euch zu den oben angegebenen Koordinaten. Vor Euch liegt der Synagogenplatz. Von Februar 1886 bis zum August 1938 stand hier die größte und schönste Synagoge der jüdischen Gemeinde in der Pfalz. Es handelte sich um einen repräsentativen Ritualbau im romanischen und orientalischen Stil, erbaut nach den Plänen von Prof. Ludwig Levy aus Landau. Doch bereits vor der Reichsprogromnacht im November 1938 musste der Bau den Stadtentwicklungsplänen der Nazis weichen. Nachgebildet ist ein Teil des Hauptportals. Eine Buchsbaumhecke kennzeichnet den Verlauf der äußeren Grundmauer. Diverse visuelle Projektoren vermitteln ein virtuelles 3-D Bild des Gebäudes von innen sowie von außen.

 Go to the place of the above mentioned coordinates. In front of you is the spot of the synagogue. From February 1886 until August 1938 the biggest and the most beautiful synagogue of the Jewish congregation was right here in the Palatine. Still before the Reichsprogromnacht in November 1938 the building had to be demolished. A part of the main portal has been reproduced. A box-tree hedge identifies the course of the exterior foundation wall. Diverse visual projectors procure a virtual 3-D picture of the building from the interior as well as from the exterior.
