Come join us for a day of fun and geocaching!
To celebrate the 2008 Geocaching Adventure Series and the Huron
History Mystery Tour we're hosting a picnic at the Sunset Ridge
area of Huron Meadows Metropark in Brighton, Michigan. Sunset Ridge
overlooks Maltby Lake and has a handicap accessible ramp and
stairway leading to a fishing pier. There is a shelter, picnic
tables, restrooms and a playground. The shelter does not have
electricity. Dogs are allowed in some areas of the park on a leash
no longer than six feet. There is no alcohol allowed at this
event.
The 2008 Geocaching Adventure
series is a series of family-oriented geocaches
placed by MiGO members as a tribute to the Metroparks Geocaching
Adventure series.
The Huron History Mystery
Tour is the longest, 5 star terrain Geocaching
adventure ever. There are 22 caches placed over 100 miles on the
Huron River, all accessible by watercraft. 11 of these caches can
also be accessed by land. This adventure was the brainstorm of the
Huron River Watershed Council, and came to life with the assistance
of the Huron-Clinton Metropark Authority and the Michigan
Geocaching Organization.
