"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to, cry if I want to. You would cry too if it happened to you."
Lesley Gore
Yup! I really do know that I have it easy. No knee surgeries in my past or future. No achilles tendons recovering. No heart problems. No lung problems. You get the idea....
But, tears oh tears ...My new bike sits in the corner with only 16 miles on the odometer. My hiking poles haven't touched the earth. My pneumonia won't go away, or so it seems. Allergies have got me laid low. Summer in Alaska and all I can do is hope for caches .5 miles (last week it was 200 feet) or less from the car and the energy to find them. I see the logs of geofamily cruising in the heights. I feel so left out!
Now that I've made my very own private pity party oh so public, I'd like company. Ever had your own private pity party? Now is the time to come out of the closet and realize that having a pity party once and awhile is perfectly fine and normal and its even okay to share it with friends. This is an event to honor everyone who deserved to have a public pity party or an empathy party and never had one.
We won't take things too seriously. Come join the newly forming and quickly disbanding flash pity party club.
Congregate in the Regional Medical Center parking lot (at the time and coordinates listed) for a 15-minute Pity Party. Best of all, it's a 1/1 event - few mosquitoes, no bogs, no long hikes, no elevation gain.
