Geocache Description:

1912 Tunnel Alt: 1167m

Located between Mile 33 and 34 along the Coal Branch railway from Bickerdike station, this cement tunnel’s claim to fame was in the opening credits of Hockey Night in Canada. Over 25 years ago, the Canadian National Railway (CNR) used to be one of the major sponsors of the famous CBC show and at the beginning of every telecast showed an engine coming out of a tunnel. THIS was that tunnel. Cool, huh?

Please BE CAREFUL around the railway tracks and keep an ear out for trains! The easiest approach to the cache is from the WEST side. (if you approach from the East you'll have to walk through (or over) the tunnel)

The cache is a camo’ed cashew container and holds a logbook, pencil, various trade items and an FTF prize. Look for a fallen telegraph pole nearby.
