Geocache Description:

Successful hunters will find this one just a few feet from the road. This devilish hide is a large (for a bison tube) container which holds only a log and part of the coordinates for the last cache in the series. This is the first of four hides. BYOP. WMA - Wear blaze orange during hunting season.

FTF goes to Haz-Matt24 for this one!

Check the User's Web Page at the top of this listing for more Jersey Devil info. Each of the first three caches in the series has partial coordinates leading to the mystery cache, "JD04 - Hunt for the Jersey Devil - Rt. 666." You do not need to use any particular order to find the three.

Perhaps the first sighting of the Jersey Devil occurred in 1735. This is the purported birth year of the Jersey Devil, rumored to be named Smith J. Leeds.

Much more recently, the Jersey Devil has possibly been sighted near the area of this series of caches. In 1960 local residents heard eerie noises and found strange tracks in Dorothy and May's Landing. Two awards were announced for the Jersey Devil's capture - one for $10,000 and one for $100,000.

Do take precautions while searching. If you hear really strange noises, consider returning to your cache mobile and trying on some other day. Night time caching is not recommended in areas frequented by the Jersey Devil.

Might be wet and soggy at times. Coordinates are accurate, but tree cover doesn't help.
