Geocache Description:

This is the third of several Jersey Devil caches hidden in the midst of woods where the JD has been spotted on various occasions for more than 270 years. BYOP. WMA - Wear blaze orange during hunting season.

FTF goes to Haz-Matt24 for this one!

If you intend to find all four of the caches in the series, be sure to write down the information you find with the logs for the first three.

Each of the first three has partial coordinates leading to the mystery cache, "JD04 - Hunt for the Jersey Devil along Rt. 666." You do not need to use any particular order to find the three.

This slightly fiendish hide may drive you up a tree. Then again, it may not. Park your car along the side of the road and do a little bushwhacking once you are near the coordinates. We averaged the coords with two different Garmins, but there was some variation in our readings.

One Jersey Devil web site reported that on October 28th, 2006, a camper watched a creature on the side of the road in Marmora, NJ. At first, it looked as if it were a kid in a costume, until the creature jumped across Route 9 and ran into the woods. Most kids cannot jump all the away across the highway.

Do take precautions while searching. If you hear really strange noises, consider returning to your cache mobile and trying on some other day. Prudent cachers won’t try for this one after dusk.
