Geocache Description:

the above co-ordinates are for (free) parking, for cache co-ordinates see below

Dear Cacher
You may or may not wish to undertake this series of caches for while they may bring you temporary and fleeting happiness they will inevitably remind you of the very woeful tales of the three Baudelaire children, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny in Lemony Snickets “A series of unfortunate events” (a family favourite of ours). There will be a cache linked to each of the 13 sorrowful tales, the final one being a mystery cache solved by gathering information from each of the previous. You will be forced to dwell on this sad history as each of the caches will also require research into their lives (by the books or internet) to complete the individual cache co-ordinates.

If you enjoy cache series with happy endings than you are better off finding some other cache series

The final tale finds the three Baudelaires shipwrecked on an island along with their nemesis. And while I’m sure you will be intrigued by coconut cordials, feet of clay, bitter apples, a raft of books, and the death of a sibling I’m sure you will be equally glad to have reached the end of this sad series. If it is indeed the end…

Similarly, you will find an equal amount if tragic and courageous stories at this location, with some background information here (visit link)

From The Penultimate Peril you can either cross the island or recreate the Baudelaire’s trip around by sea!

You will only have reached here through your diligent research, inventiveness and maybe biting some things on the previous 12 caches of the series
• The Bad Beginning GC1DAE6
• The Reptile Room GC1DTW8
• The Wide Window GC1EMHT
• The Miserable Mill GC1EQW8
• The Austere Academy GC1FZRH
• The Ersatz Elevator GC1G3KX
• The Vile Village GC1GJM9
• The Hostile Hospital GC1GJMG
• The Carnivorous Carnival GC1GJMY
• The Slippery Slope GC1GJN3
• The Grim Grotto GC1J1BN
• The Penultimate Peril GC1K1XO

from the parking this is maybe a 1/2 hour walk (shortcuts only miss out on the views!), out to the front of the sea centre then along the coastal path, up and down, some rocky sections may be slippy in rain

by gathering your library of research from the previous caches you will find the end at
N 5A BC.DEF W 00G HI.JKL

Congratulations to Caneou for the FTF for the series (and by bus!)
